Our Space

We are a Collaborative Artist collective that has private studio spaces with collaborative shared maker spaces.  We want to encourage builders and artists to utilize the space to launch their own creative endeavors and become ENTREPRENEURS.

Having space to gather, share ideas and Create, is a cornerstone of community and individual development.  We aim to bring creativity and vocational shop skills together to engage a new form and way of tool, skill sharing and collaboration.

A Center for the birth of new ideas.  WagonWorks is the creation of a Maker Space where creatives work with one another through art and expression to create a neighborhood of strength and identity.  Starting with individuals, we focus on nourishing those seeds of creativity within, activating the heart and  learning from one another.  A shared work/play environment to utilize space and tools to fulfill your creative needs.  Sometimes you just want a place where you can go and build something, a place to pitch your concepts for a business, a project or invention.  Wagonworks functions to nourish the mind and imagination, just like your local gym does for the body and strength. A membership based community of local artisans, professionals and beginners experimenting with materials.

WagonWorks will incorporate:
  • A safe location for Community Development and Shared Spaces

  • A place for Artists to interact with local community

  • A Performance venue, Art Gallery space and Crafts Consignment shop.

  • Computer labs, Electronics Hub, 3D printing & Scanning, Laser Cutting

History

Picture
The Eagle Wagon Works, built in 1871, 3 story brick building on the right. Built by William Haber, a blacksmith and wagon builder on Pine St. in Tamaqua. This photo was taken around 1910 and shows an assembly line of the first gas powered vehicles and chassis that were built inside the Wagon Works when it transitioned from building horse drawn carriages, wagons and sleighs to the first automobiles in Tamaqua. Streets were still dirt at this time - Dale Freudenberger-
